Overview

Whittemore and Haigh Engineering Inc. engineers are experienced in the design of new buildings, building additions, and renovation work. We are familiar with all of the required design codes, standards, and requirements in the Mid Atlantic States region. We also work with Architects to provide you with a complete design package. Construction types include structural steel, reinforced and pre-cast concrete, masonry, and wood construction.

Genesee Township Volunteer Fire Company, Genesee, PA

Gregory Moser PE provided Structural Engineering services for the design of a new 7500 square foot fire hall including truck bay and training/social/kitchen area. The building construction consists of reinforced concrete masonry walls, open web steel joist roof members and continuous footings under the walls. The concrete masonry units used were NRG block insulated masonry units.

 

Pittsford Library, Pittsford, NY

Structural engineering services for design of a two-story pre-stressed concrete building. Gregory Moser, PE, designed the pre-stressed concrete beams and columns with hollow core plank floor and roof and also the pre-cast elevator and stair towers.

 

Major Retailer – Locations in PA, NJ, NY, DC and CT.

Gregory Moser, PE, was Structural Engineer of Record for over 100 retail stores in multiple locations in PA, NJ, NY, DC, and CT. Stores typically are new construction, one story, 10,000 to 14,000 square feet in size and constructed of structural steel framing, open-web roof joists, and cold-formed steel wall framing on spread footings.

 

PPL Generating Station, Washingtonville, PA

Emergency Spares Warehouse: Gregory Moser, PE served as Project Manager and senior structural engineer for this multi-discipline project to design a new 31,000 square foot facility to safely store emergency spare parts for the Montour Generating Station turbine generator systems. The high bay portion of the facility has a 60 foot eave height and houses a multi-girder overhead crane with an 80 ton lift capacity. A rail siding goes into the new warehouse. Due to the structural limitations of the site's soils the rail siding, building columns and floor slab are supported on steel plies and reinforced concrete pile caps. The project included architectural, civil, electrical, mechanical, and structural engineering services.
